Jill é esperta, forte e super durona.

Eu me sinto profundamente lisonjeada e grata.

Original Interview in English:

Hello, Julia. Thanks for your time talking to us. So, first of all, we would like to hear from you how the opportunity to be Jill Valentine‘s face model came to you. How and when did Capcom get in contact with you?

I was in Tokyo in early 2001 for a modeling contract when I was asked to audition for it. It was a very typical audition process except for the fact no one was able to tell us what it was for, not even our agents knew. We were in this very posh skyscraper in central Tokyo and there were literally hundreds of models and actors there to get their chance at this mystery job. It must have been fate or destiny but it wasn’t long before I got the call congratulating me on being the newest member of the RE video game family. It was an pretty incredible moment.

What do you think about the character Jill Valentine?

Jill is smart, tough, and super kick-ass. I’ve always felt very lucky to represent her.

Do you think you have something in common with her?

Other then having the same initials, I think we are both fighters. When there’s a job to do we make sure it is done. And if the world was overtaken by zombies or the undead, I pretty sure I could escape.

How do you feel by finding out that fans of Resident Evil and fans of Jill Valentine are also fans of Julia Voth? You helped create Jill’s expressions and fans are very much in love with the character, considering her the most beautiful character over all RE characters.

I feel deeply flattered and grateful. It makes me very happy that so many people have enjoyed hours and hours playing Jill. It wasn’t until I started acting that people found out she was based on me, the amount the love I’ve felt back it truly amazing.

Have you ever played any Resident Evil game? And besides Jill, do you have any other favorite characters?

As soon as the first game came out we got it, at that point I hadn’t seen what the final Jill looked like. It was about a year and a half from the time I did the job to the game coming out so I didn’t want to wait anymore. I was shocked (in a very good way) how much it looked like me, it’s so crazy to see a yourself walking and talking and killing zombies. I loved the game, but I’d rather do it for real on a movie set. I think that’s where the Jill in me shines out.

Could you tell us about the process of “lending” your face to Jill Valentine?

They basically just scanned my face, hands, feet, ears, neck into a computer and reacted her movements from there. They also scanned facial expressions and mouth shapes so when Jill talks or makes an expression, its mine.

Have you ever been blond like Resident Evil 5’s Jill? What do you think of Jill’s “blond version” in RE5? Are you willing to dye your hair blond if you were invited to play RE5’s Jill Valentine in a live-action version?

I have done jobs before where I’ve had a wig on and I actually really like blonde on me, it’s so different. So yes I would definitely do that.

Do you believe that nowadays the games productions are as big as the Hollywood ones?

Some absolutely are, games are moving into a whole new thing where some are like really long movies that you control. What they can do nowadays is incredible.

Have you seen the live-action movies? What do you think of them?

Of course I have seen them I think they are great. My dream is to play Jill in a live action movie. There is a whole story that can be told from her point of view. And it is the support from the Jill Valentine/Julia Voth fans that will make that possible.

What do you think of Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine?

I think she is great, she is true to Jill yet has her own take on it. She definitely kicks ass.

If you were invited to play Jill Valentine in a movie, would you accept the invitation? Have you ever thought of doing a “Jill Valentine photoshoot” or something like that? Fans would definitely appreciate it!

If the opportunity came to play Jill I would in a heartbeat. I have felt such a connection to her for so long, like I said it would be a dream come true for me, and I full circle moment in my life.  Never say never, anything is possible.  Let me ask you? It that something you would like to see?

Could you tell us about your future plans and works? Do you have any projects going on right now?

My latest movie “Liltih” is going to be out soon, it a modern telling of Dante’s Inferno. It’s a dark and twisted physiological thriller, its very cool.
I also just signed on to a sexy CIA thriller appropriately called “Sexual Thriller” that I will shoot next year. I can’t say much about it yet but it’s looking to be really, really great.

Would you like to send a message for us fans of Jill and fans of Julia?

Of course! Thank you so much for all your support and love. I hope I will have much more Jill Valentine news for you guys soon 😉 AND I hope to come to Brazil and see you in person.
